Who are the most frequently mentioned people on your Vox blog?
Submitted by Amirul B Ruslan.
I don't know what to call them anymore. They used to have a fun group title...
I guess that means I have to count them up and give the cast a new, possibly number-based name. (Numbers were used in the past.)
[several minutes pass]
Um, the number of characters in title roles is preventing me from assigning an apt name for the ensemble. Great, that means I have to be creative about it.
Meanwhile, this question gets answered in a suitably echo fashion.
Have you ever Googled your own name? How did you feel about the results?
Submitted by elen.
Yes. I remember the first time I searched for my first name and found a radio station's domain. That was in the early days of Google. When I try my full name, no search results - ha! If I trim it down to my first name and surname (with quotes), I discovered a photograph I took of Jennie that she put on a student gallery site.
After that, there are some listings for whom I suspect is "The Other Kara" - look at this:
I wonder, is that her? There are addresses and such listed for her. It makes me think, what would happen if I contacted this chick?
I didn't go deeper than the first page of results. Maybe I should do further investigation...
What's the worst pickup line you've ever heard?
Submitted by ShellEy.
I can't recall hearing a good pickup line. Nor can I single out any one of the myriad pickup lines as the worst. They've all been horrible.
What's your method for calculating a tip?
I look at the first two or three numbers on the bill. I move the decimal point in my head to make it 10%. Rounding the numbers up or down (depending on the situation), I multiply that figure by 2 to get 20%. Voila! That's how much tip is! (Unless the person serving me didn't do a good job.)
Example:
$24.89 = $2.48
$2.48 = either $2.40 or $2.50
$4.80 or $5.00 = the amount of the tip

Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever seen a ghost?
Submitted by Nancy.
Yes. Haven't seen one personally, but know people who believe they have. I'm not saying they haven't seen what they claim to, I'm simply pointing out that I have no way of knowing if the ghost was actually present [because I was not].
A friend of mine saw my father right after he died. She's afraid of ghosts, but wasn't at all scared when he appeared. [Well, why should she be? My Dad was very good to her and she suffers from losing him, too.] I didn't know then nor do I know now how to respond when she brings it up. It makes me wonder: how come she got to see him and I didn't? Is she "open" to such sightings? I left myself open to it long ago. And of course, after Dad passed, I hoped that I'd see him... I still hope I'll stumble upon The Happy Death Cross, but that's another story.
I've taken photographs that have possibly ghostly content, but don't consider that actually seeing a ghost.
There was also that fork incident when I was young: a fork that was definitely not ours fell - seemingly out of nowhere - from above our kitchen table down to the floor.
Addendum (11/11/2006): The Haunted House [Caps and italics used because that's my official name for it and the series of photographs I've taken over the years. Photo projects are fun!]
Many years ago, I went inside the house with a friend to explore it - despite the fact that it was condemned and literally falling apart.
Naturally I was taking many photos of the inside. While in one of the rooms, I found a newspaper from 1973 on the floor. I decided to take a picture of it.
The camera refused to fire. Sometimes that happens with my 35mm under certain conditions (zoomed in too far, not enough light - things of that nature).
I stepped back and tried again. No dice. I adjusted the zoom. The camera still wouldn't work. I aimed the camera elsewhere in the room. It didn't take. I made many more attempts to photograph anything in the room - changing the camera's various settings to see if any of them would make a difference.
The camera continued to refuse.
Initially, I thought, "Damn, my camera is broken!"
But there was nothing wrong with it. When I left the room, it worked just fine.
Ghostly? I can't be sure.
If the house wasn't such a safety hazard, I would've tried going inside at a later date to further investigate this "no photographs of this part of the house!" business.
How many computers do you have in your house?
Submitted by Foomper.
Five that I am aware of. Three are used regularly, one is just sitting there - but it has valuable items saved on it, meaning I cannot part with it yet, and the remaining computer is a broken laptop owned by my sister.

What's the best way to spend a rainy day?

Driving around in it, hoping to catch some good photographs.
What gameshow or reality show would you kick butt on?
Rock & Roll JEOPARDY!® Except I'm fairly certain the show isn't on any longer. Probably in reruns, but that doesn't help me.
If there are other music gameshows around I don't know about, maybe I could be a contender on one of them.
